How to make a giant balloon stand up outdoors

Giant natural latex balloons have existed for decades. But there's never been a reliable way to make them stay upright outdoors. The Pompalloon stand changes that.

The idea that changed everything

The Pompalloon stand is an engineering breakthrough, built for height, control and elegance. Assembled in minutes, it holds the balloon upright, facing the direction you choose, letting it respond naturally to the air — gracefully, and under control.

Storage and transportation

Small-volume storage

Orders of less than 10 outdoor or 20 indoor Pompalloons (per location) are usually shipped in suitcase-style cardboard boxes. These are designed to carry 2 outdoor or up to 4 indoor stands and also serve as easy storage and transport solutions.

Large-volume storage

When it comes to larger groups of stands, we recommend our customised push cart. Easily collapsible, with 4-inch caster wheels and rear breaks, it includes a special storage unit for your plastic parts, and accommodates up to 16 outdoor or 30 indoor stands. The cart and the stands together fit comfortably on a “half-Euro” pallet (80x60 cm).

Filling your balloons

Weather

Wind

Outdoor stands will hold up nicely in a strong breeze — that is, in winds of up to 10 meters per second (36 km/h), or category 6 on the Beaufort scale. This includes most conditions in which outdoor balloon decor can be considered a good idea.

A caveat: Features of the landscape or architecture of a given location may produce wind tunnels or sudden gusts, and should be taken into account.

Rain

The outdoor Pompalloon base is designed to withstand brief exposure to rain. However, leaving it to soak for days at a time may result in surface deformation, and will eventually degrade the integrity of the base.
